    The active chemical compounds in grapefruit include flavones, isoflavones, flavonols, furanocoumarins and anthocyanidin, which have been found to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities. The flavonoids of interest include naringin, quercetin and kaempferol.

    Borax is very toxic to the body. It should not touch your skin. People have died from borax poisoning.

    • @HealthOrigins
      @HealthOrigins 8 днів тому

      I believe your information is not correct, that's mainstream media whipping up a fear frenzy and hence banning it in UK. However, borax is actually very beneficial, it can even be taken internally in small doses. Don't be scared of it Ron, just do more research on this and you will see what I mean.

    I've learned that it is better to add flavor extracts to a pot after the cooking is done, or else the flavor will evaporate along with the other liquid during cooking.

    I've been making tofu for a few months now. I save a lot of time and trouble by pouring the curds and weigh directly into a fine mesh strainer. When most of the whey has dripped out, I carefully scoop the curds into my lined mold. It works great and the strainer is easy to clean! Very nice tutorial! Thank you!

    I only use oat milk in a hot milky drink like a Latte or hot chocolate So I would imagine I wouldn’t need to do your recommended heat process as I would be heating it anyway for my drink or does store bought oat milk have something added to stop it turning into custard when you almost boil it or froth it?

    • @HealthOrigins
      @HealthOrigins 16 днів тому

      Yes, you don't need to do the heating up step if you use it only in hot drinks, it was only of you were using it raw for cereal etc 👍 And yes, store bought milks got lots of additives added that would probably prevent it turning into custard.

    • @HealthOrigins

    My process is much simpler. Put oats + water + probiotic capsule in blender. Blend. Pour into glass container, cover with cloth and leave for 8+ hours. Done. The longer you leave it, the more tangy it gets. Once it's to your liking, put in the fridge. I've been making it this way for 10+ years. Sometimes I add coconut milk for an oat/coconut yogurt. I wouldn't like to strain or get rid of the pulp, the fiber is part of the reason I like oats.

    Looks awesome; I have to try this! It also looks a bit similar to Swedish kroppkakor, which are also potato dumplings, but we only use cooked potato for the casing, and instead of potato starch we use all purpose flour and egg (for non-vegans of course), so I guess our casing is a little bit more like gnocchi.
